TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsans and their pets enjoyed a few pancakes to help pooches Saturday morning.

They gathered at Fire Station number 32 for breakfast and to raise money for Biscuit Acres Dog Park.

The park's closed for the winter so the grass has a chance to thicken. They need about $30,000 to pay for a new sprinkler system and sod.

Volunteers set up prize drawings, plus firefighters offered up a one-of-a-kind ride in the ladder truck.

"It's really quite an interesting ride I guess to go about ten stories up in the air on one of those buckets. It'll really give you a real thrill and realistic example of what the firemen go through," said John Benjamin, Biscuit Acres.

Organizers say they raised about $4,000. And, they're planning another event before the Biscuit Acres re-opens in May.
