OKMULGEE COUNTY – Charges were filed Friday against a man accused of killing his sister-in-law.
Michael Kafer is charged with second degree murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in the death of Mary Beth "Penny" Kafer.
Investigators say Michael Kafer was the behind the wheel of a pickup truck that hit and killed his sister-in-law on January 16, 2011, at a home near Henryetta. Investigators said Penny Kafer was killed when family members got an argument.

Penny Kafer taught at Glenpool Public Schools for 26 years, most recently helping elementary students who needed extra attention. Her funeral was held Friday in Henryetta.
Michael Kafer is expected back in court on February 24, 2011. He is being held in the Okmulgee County jail.
