SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- Chanel Bershears of Sand Springs learned a valuable lesson after starting her SUV and leaving it unsupervised.

After she went back inside her home in the 600 block of North Roosevelt, she looked out her window to discover her SUV had been stolen.

Shortly after they got the call, Sand Springs Police caught up with the stolen SUV.  After a police chase with speeds up to 90 MPH, officers arrested a 21-year-old Tulsa man when the Jeep hit a utility pole at the corner of 41st Street and Edison in Tulsa.

Bershears issued a warning to other drivers.

"Just wanted to warn everybody to not let their cars warm up or have an extra key to lock your doors when it is warming up in the morning," she said.

Patrick Gregory was taken in to custody by Sand Springs Police on complaints of larceny of auto, eluding, hit and run, no drivers license and possession of a stolen handgun.
