TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Greater Cornerstone Community Development Project broke ground Monday afternoon on a new community center on 41st West Avenue.
It will be home to a range of social service agencies; everything from help with food and clothing to a health clinic.
Supporters say Habitat for Humanity's involvement on the westside prompted them to action
"They built over 100, almost 100 new homes just in this South Haven area alone, and so with this springboard that they provided, we decided we would stay in this community and help make something happen," said Willard Jones, Executive Director.
Organizers hope the project will help break the cycle of poverty for needy families in West Tulsa.
