COLLINSVILLE, Oklahoma -- A dangerous stretch of Highway 20 is a step closer to being rebuilt.
On Monday, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation hired Paragon Contractors to take out the "S" curve on Highway 20 from 22nd street, east to 14th Street in Collinsville and replace it with a five-lane stretch of road.
Paragon was the lowest of five bidders on the project, which will cost over $2 million.
There is no word yet when the project will start, but ODOT said it's usually about six to eight weeks after the contract is awarded.
Once work begins, the project will take about six months to finish.
