TULSA, Oklahoma – A Tulsa couple was honored Monday for their tireless efforts to prevent child abuse.
The Parent Child Center of Tulsa celebrated the dedication of Charles Schusterman Avenue, the stretch of street that borders the center.
The Schustermans have been donating to worthy causes in Tulsa for decades, giving the lead gift in 1996 that helped build the Parent Child Center.
Lynn Schusterman says her late husband would be pleased with the progress that's been made in preventing child abuse but says there's a lot more work to do.
"The state legislature really needs to look at this and think long and hard about cutting those budgets," she said.
Outside the center, you'll see little pinwheels, which represent each child affected by abuse.
