JAY, Oklahoma -- A Delaware County Sheriff's Office police dog has lost his battle with cancer.

Chico died Tuesday at 8:44 a.m.

Last year, Chico, who was 7-years-old was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

He also had other medical problems stemming from an incident when his handler, sheriff's deputy Steve Brownell, was shot in the line of duty.

A memorial service is being planned for sometime next week by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office.
