Fumes From 'Slop' Tank Catch Fire At West Tulsa Refinery

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Large flames coming from the Holly Refinery in West Tulsa lit up the night sky Friday.

Fire crews say fumes venting from a slop tank caught fire releasing non-toxic hydro carbon. The tank is used to store waste product.

The view from SkyNews6 showed the flames shooting from vents that circle the tank.

Holly Refinery fire crews sprayed water and foam on adjacent tanks to prevent the flames from spreading. The Tulsa Fire Department had crews staged in the area if assistance was needed. 

Crews had the fire under control around 10:30 p.m. There were no injuries.
