UNDATED -- Muskogee Police say heavy rains are causing major problems. One officer told News On 6 over the phone that "the entire city is flooded."

Creeks have turned into raging rivers spilling over to roads and bridges, stalling several cars.

There was at least one water rescue in the area. A 16-year-old boy was pulled from his truck stuck in the middle of a flooded street. The teen was apparently trying to drive through the water.

Remember, even an SUV can be washed away by a flood. All it takes is two feet of water.

All the rain has caused a problem for the schools in Westville in Adair County. The superintendent has canceled class for Monday.

He says after talking with the fire department and looking at the number of bridges washed away, there's no way to run the buses.

He says this means he'll have to extend the school year by one day to make up, but felt it was better to be safe.
