TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Juneteenth celebration is planned for Saturday at the downtown OSU-Tulsa Campus. The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce is hosting a music festival from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, celebrates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in 1865. The word merges "June" and "nineteenth;" however, Tulsa will celebrate on Saturday near Greenwood Avenue.

There will be live music, food vendors and inflatables for the kids. The festival will be in an open field just east of OSU-Tulsa.
