MARSHALL COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A Moore man is dead after falling out of a golf cart and hitting his head. It happened at 5:43 a.m. Sunday on Washita Point Road and Breeze Way, about 10 miles outside Kingston in Marshall County.

Michael Everett Macey, 41, was riding in the back seat of an EZ Go golf cart when he stood up and tried to turn around. He lost his balance and fell backward onto the roadway, striking his head, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

He was pronounced dead upon arrival by emergency room staff at a Madill hospital.

The golf car was not equipped with seat belts.

The driver and the two women passengers in the golf cart were uninjured.

The trooper's report states that the driver's condition was apparently normal at the time of the wreck and that the accident's cause is still under investigation.
