TULSA, Oklahoma -- The heat is bearing down on Green Country and it's only getting worse.

A number of counties are under a heat warning which will run until 8 p.m. Monday. Those include Creek, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Tulsa, Latimer, Rogers, Pittsburg, Wagoner, Washington, Osage, Pawnee, McIntosh and Muskogee.

Cherokee, Adair, Mayes, Delaware, Ottawa, Craig, Nowata, Le Flore, Ottawa, Payne and Hughes counties are under a heat advisory.

The heat and/or the heat index will be at or above 105 during much of the day and there will not be much relief at night with minimum temperatures only dropping into the mid-upper 70s. This can easily lead to heat related illnesses.
