Le Flore County – The son of a Le Flore county couple found shot to death in their home last week has been charged with his parents' death, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday.
Kevin Statham, 50, is charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Paul Statham, 70, and Helen Statham, 69.
The OSBI believes Kevin Statham shot and killed the couple at their home in Bokoshe on Monday, July, 4, 2011.
He then stole several items from their home, including his mother's purse and a shotgun, and drove off in their 1993 Chevy pickup truck, the OSBI said.
The couple's bodies were discovered outside their home two days later.
Kevin Statham was found on July 7, 2011, at a friend's house in North Dakota. He was arrested and taken into custody on a felony warrant from Le Flore County for larceny of a motor vehicle in 2009.
