FORT GIBSON LAKE, Oklahoma -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the Rocky Point Swim Beach at Fort Gibson Lake has been closed because of blue-green algae found in the area.

The Corps' Tulsa office says in a news release, because of the algae, the water at the beach is considered unsafe for people and pets and has been closed.

The beach is one of several at its Oklahoma lakes that remain closed because of the blue-green algae.

The list includes the Twin Points Swim Beach at Skiatook Lake, Porum Landing Swim Beach at Eufaula Lake and Old Mannford Area off old state Highway 51 at Keystone Lake.
