BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- A new sporting goods store will be getting money from the city of Broken Arrow's Economic Development Authority if it maintains certain employment levels over the next 10 years.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the city and Dick's Sporting Goods calls for the store to employ at least 64 people over the next 10 years.
Read the memorandum of understanding.
That agreement was approved by the Broken Arrow City Council in September.
Crews are close to completing construction on the new store on the east side of Broken Arrow.
The MOU states it is estimated Dick's Sporting Goods will generate an additional $7 million in taxable sales revenue by the third year of operation.
In turn, BA will pay Dick's Sporting Goods up to $90,000 each year for 10 years for job creation and economic development.
The 50,000 square foot store is located near Hillside Drive and the Broken Arrow Expressway. It is expected to open its doors in mid-October.
