If you have some Christmas leftovers in the form of holiday trash – Tulsa Recycle and Transfer has your answer. TRT is kicking off its first annual "Dreaming of a Recycled Christmas" campaign this week to help recycle cardboard, plastic and other holiday waste.
The campaign runs through January 10.
"This campaign is about everybody working together as a community to have a huge impact on our environment in Tulsa," said Tom Hill, CEO of TRT, American Environmental Landfill and American Waste Control.
The company is aiming to recover 624,000 pounds of cardboard, beating last year's total of 432,000 pounds. Tulsa Recycle and Transfer also hopes to collect 192,000 pounds of paper, 120,000 pounds of plastics and 24,000 pounds of aluminum.
TRT now has thirty Mr. Murph drop off sites throughout Tulsa for people wanting to recycle everything from gift wrapping paper and greeting cards to plastic containers, cardboard and even Styrofoam.
