A 66-year-old man is dead after a home invasion in East Tulsa Monday evening.
Tulsa Police have three teens ranging in age from 16 to 19 in custody and say the only motive for the shooting was robbery.
Police received a call around 8 p.m. about a home invasion and shooting in the 13300 block of East 36th Street.
William Zachary was in this home with his girlfriend when three intruders kicked in the back door and demanded money from Zachary.
Tulsa Police say Zachary apparently hesitated giving them the cash when he was shot once in the face.
The trio then ran away, but police used K-9 officers and TPD's helicopter to track them down and arrest them.
Zachary was taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital where he later died.
Neighbors say they did not hear anything and they are not used to having this kind of activity in their neighborhood.
"This area stays pretty quiet for the most part. It is kind of unusual for this area because we don't get many calls out here," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Mark Watson.
Police say Zachary's girlfriend witnessed the whole thing and even though she was not hurt, police tell News On 6 she was very shaken up.
Police say they are still searching for more suspects and evidence.
