Tulsa Police are looking for a man they say badly beat the mother of his children then poured bleach on her and their two children, one a 2-month-old infant.
Curtis Randolph Barber, 22, is the Tulsa Police Department's Most Wanted felon this week.
Barber became violent after arguing with his girlfriend on April 2, 2011, according to an affidavit filed in Tulsa County Court. He began beating her after he could not find a pair of shoes she bought for him.
He restrained the victim from leaving the apartment or calling emergency services, punching her repeatedly and throwing her against the walls, the court document states.
Barber then poured bleach on the victim, their 1-year-old child and 2-month-old infant. He kept the woman in the apartment for several hours until she finally escaped and called police.
The officer who responded to her call for help said the apartment had an overwhelming smell of bleach and several holes in the walls where the victim had apparently been thrown. The two children were home alone when he arrived.
Barber is wanted for domestic assault and battery by strangulation, maiming, domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (two counts), domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor, and interfering with an emergency call.
He also has outstanding warrants for first degree burglary, probation violations, assault and battery on a police officer, leaving the scene of an accident and several other traffic offenses.
Tulsa police warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Barber is described as a black male, 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
