Tulsa City Councilors Get A Special Tour Of City Council District 8

Tulsa's City Councilors started a tour of each other's districts Thursday with a visit to Phil Lakin's Council District 8.

The councilors took a city bus on a tour through neighborhoods, road projects and parks.

The stops included discussions of the widening Yale Avenue, possible improvements to Hunter Park, and sidewalk connections for neighborhoods.

"I wanted people to get out and see the good things and the bad things about district 8 and wanted them to know what our needs are. So, when we go into the budget cycle and I start asking for money for roads, they have seen and experienced our very narrow roads," Lakin said.

The city councilors will tour GT Bynum's District 9 next Thursday.
