A Vian man charged cruelty to animals stemming from a November 2011 incident where he was seen dragging a horse down a paved country road with his ATV has waived his preliminary hearing.
Rueben Houston, 26, is also charged with trespassing and malicious injury to property.
Sequoyah County Sheriff's deputies say the injuries to the horse were so severe that a veterinarian had to euthanize it.
Houston's next court date is March 15, 2012. He remains free on bond.
