Police Seek Answers In Deadly East Tulsa Crash

Police need your help to figure out what caused a crash in east Tulsa around 2:00 Tuesday morning. The driver was just moved out of ICU and the passenger was killed.

Some people believe the couple was chased and bumped from behind, which caused them to slam into a tree. But police need facts, not rumor.

Police say skid marks indicate another vehicle may have been involved, but without witnesses, they don't know if those skid marks are from a suspect or one of the good Samaritans who stopped to help.

You can plainly see where Stormey Jordan and Amanda Anderson went off the street and slammed into a tree, then burst into flames.

People have left flowers in Amanda's memory. She was the mother of four children, ages seven, eight, 10 and 12. She and Stormey were dating. 

Police say the couple was at a bar near 11th and Memorial and had some drinks.

"We know both had been drinking but don't know who much. We have that kit going in right now, for the results of that," said Tulsa Police Cpl. Brian Collum.

Stormey's family says drinking didn't cause the wreck but a man who the couple knew did. They say he was chasing Stormey and bumped them from behind, sending them into the tree.

They even say the man stopped and pulled Amanda out of the car while other bystanders pulled Stormey from the wreckage but then took off.

"All the information we're getting from relatives right now is just conjecture. Obviously we've got to base what we know off facts and evidence and right now, we don't have that," Collum said.

Police work all fatal crashes as homicides until they determine exactly what happened. They say a neighbor did hear two distinct engines going fast right before the crash, but couldn't give a description of them.

"We don't know if he was being chased. We don't know if it was a car race or maybe just going too fast," Collum said.

Stormey's family says he is devastated by the loss of the woman he loved and they are hoping an arrest will be made and charges filed.
