The Sand Springs teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student was charged with rape in a Tulsa County courtroom.
Erin Kathleen Queen, 27, was charged Wednesday with 2nd degree rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Tulsa Police say they caught Erin Queen with one of her male students on March 18, 2012, at the Candlewood Suites on East 73rd Street - after his parents tipped off police. Police say Queen admitted to having sex with the student.
Queen is employed at Charles Page High School. Sand Springs Superintendent Lloyd Snow says Queen is suspended with pay and has a hearing on her status with the district scheduled for April 25, 2012. Snow has recommended that Queen be dismissed.
Queen is currently out of jail on bond.
