Edmond police are looking for a woman who pretended to be a Walmart employee and got away with thousands of dollars in prepaid debit cards.

According to police, witnesses described the suspect as a large black woman. She allegedly hit two Walmart stores in Edmond. The first incident occurred on March 15 at the Walmart located at 1225 W. I-35 Frontage Road. Police say the woman was wearing a Walmart name tag and told a cashier she worked for the corporate office and needed to see if the Green Dot Money Card System was working. She then had the cashier load three prepaid/debit cards with $1,000 each and then left the store with the cards.

The second incident occurred at the Walmart store located on 2200 W. Danforth Road in Edmond on March 28. Police say the same woman entered the store and approached a cashier. This time, she claimed she was a Walmart employee from a different store. She allegedly told the cashier she purchased three debit cards that weren't working. Police say she convinced the cashier to reload the three prepaid cards, again with $1,000 each, and then left the store.

Police are investigating a similar incident at a Del City Walmart store. Police do not believe the cashiers are involved. The suspect was captured both times on surveillance video. If you know this woman or any other details about these crimes, contact Edmond police.
