One person is dead and two others are in Tulsa hospitals after what police believe were two related shootings early Friday morning in North Tulsa.
Police say that at about 1 a.m., officers got a call about a woman in her early 40s lying in a yard in the 1000 block of East 51st Place North. When they arrived, they found the woman with a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
Tulsa Police says EMSA transported the woman to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Within five minutes of that call, police got a call about a double shooting in the 1300 block of West 51st Place North.
At that scene, police found two men lying in a yard, one shot in the upper chest and the other in the stomach. Both were taken by EMSA to two hospitals.
Tulsa Police expect both victims will survive and believe both shootings are related.
"Right now, it appears to be possibly related, because witnesses saw a white Chevy pickup leave the scene. Sounded like it was dragging a tailpipe, had a very loud noise behind it. Witnesses at both scenes saw that vehicle, so that's the assumption we're going on right now," said Tulsa Police Corporal Dan Miller.
Police believe the driver of the pickup truck was the shooter in both cases.
Names of the victims have not yet been released.
If anyone has information on these shootings or the identity of the female homicide victim please call Crime Stoppers 918-596-COPS.
