A Chevrolet Camaro parked overnight in a lot by the Arkansas River was destroyed by fire early Sunday.

When firefighters arrived at about 5 a.m., the only car in the parking lot at the 31st Street pedestrian bridge was fully engulfed, according to Tulsa Fire Captain Rick Blevins.

"It burned long enough that it ruptured the gas tank and started dumping all the fuel, so it takes a little longer to put it out," Blevins said.

The latest fire was about a quarter mile from where the department has responded to some other car fires recently, he said.

Anything to indicate the fire was suspicious?

"Nothing besides the fact that it was parked in a parking lot by itself and was fully involved," the captain said.
