The Oklahoma House finally managed to pass a $6.8 billion general appropriations bill to fund state government by just one vote before the deadline Thursday afternoon.

Earlier the House voted 47-47, falling four votes shy for passage. That failure prompted lawmakers to either pass something by a 5 p.m. deadline or be forced to return for a special session.

The House voted 52-42 for the bill, narrowly reaching the 51-vote threshold it needed to pass after a few members switched their votes.

House Democratic Leader Scott Inman urged members not to switch their vote and suggested House leaders engaged in "arm twisting."
