Sand Springs' Webco Industries Opens New Facility

A boost for the Sand Springs economy is on the way.

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin was on hand to help executives at Webco Industries cut the ribbon on a new manufacturing facility Thursday morning.

Star Center Tube is already turning out carbon-steel tubes that will be used in a variety of products, from automobiles to industrial equipment.

"After 14 months of construction, after four or five years of planning, and after 43 years of visioning, we finally are able to manufacture tubes at this facility," Webco's Mike Howard said.

Employees have been in training for several months.
