Bartlesville Teenager Injured At Osage Hills State Park

A 15-year-old Bartlesville boy is in a Tulsa hospital after he was injured jumping off a bluff into a creek at Osage Hills State Park Thursday evening, June 7, 2012.

The park is located about nine miles west of Bartlesville.

A spokesperson for the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, Leslie Blair, says the teen suffered a head injury when he jumped off a bluff overlooking Sand Creek.

Park officials say there are signs on the bluff clearly warning of the danger of jumping.

The teenager was taken to a Bartlesville hospital, then flown by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital where he was placed in intensive care.

The Sand Creek bluffs are located at the south end of Osage Hills State Park in Osage County.
