Taking flight for Father's Day in a vintage war plane-- a Tulsa aviation group is making it possible.

They've restored a historic World War II Army Air Corps plane to flying condition.

The Tulsa Commemorative Air Force Squadron has spent the last 13 years working on the project.

Now they're showing off their hard work by offering rides on the PT-19.

"This particular airplane was a training airplane in WWII-- not fast but highly maneuverable and highly aerobatic, but we don't do aerobatics in it," said Bob Prater of the Tulsa CAF.

Twenty minute rides will be offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Jones Riverside Airport.

It costs $85 and the money is used to help restore other vintage planes.

If you're interested, contact the squadron at either of these numbers: (918) 794-4182 or (918) 852-1877.
