Two Republican candidates are going head to head for the right to advance in the election for U.S. House of Representatives District 1. Either incumbent John Sullivan or challenger Jim Bridenstine will meet Democratic candidate John Olson in November.

Jim Bridenstine is a Tulsa resident who is currently serving as a pilot in the U.S. Navy Reserve. While on active duty, he was a carrier pilot and participated in military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. He earned a Master's in Business Administration from Cornell University and became the Executive Director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium. He is also a consultant with a consulting services firm.

Married to Michelle, with children Walker and Sarah and another child on the way.

A Tulsa resident, John Sullivan was first elected in 2002 to the U.S. House of Representatives District 1 where he currently serves. He was in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1995 to 2002. He serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Sullivan graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He is a real estate broker.

Married to Judy, with four children: Tommy, Meredith, Sydney and Daniel.
