Former Oklahoma State football player Justin Blackmon has changed his plea to guilty in his aggravated DUI case.

Blackmon did not appear in the Payne County courtroom Tuesday morning. Instead, his attorney entered the plea for the former OSU wide receiver.

"He is just absolutely mortified that this has occurred, that he had such bad judgment and it won't happen again," Blackmon's attorney Cheryl Ramsey said.

As part of the plea deal, Blackmon received a one-year deferred sentence. He will pay a $500 fine, a $100 assessment to a drug abuse fund, plus court costs.

In addition, Blackmon will have to serve 50 hours of community service. He'll also have an interlock device installed on his car for 90 days.

"I don't know for sure what he is going to be doing, I know that he's going to try to be working with children," Ramsey said.

Blackmon was arrested in Stillwater in early June. Police say his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. He was going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone, and was driving on the wrong side of the road.

Blackmon was a first round draft pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars. His attorney said her client will now do whatever it takes to put this behind him.

"He's very embarrassed, he has apologized to the NFL commissioner, he has apologized to the Jacksonville Jaguars in person, both of those in person and I was present at that time," said Ramsey. "He also has apologized to his supporters on television."
