Sex Offender Arrested In Connection With Tulsa Sexual Assault

Police have arrested a 26-year-old Tulsan following a reported sexual assault early Saturday morning in the 4400 block of South 72nd East Avenue.

Christopher Cardwell was booked into the Tulsa County jail on two complaints of first degree rape and one complaint each of kidnapping and failure to register as a convicted sex offender.

Police say the victim told officers she was on a first date with Cardwell when he took her to the location behind a building and attacked her.

Officers say the victim had evidence of bruising, strangulation and bite marks on her body.

After an investigation by Tulsa Police, Cardwell was arrested and taken to jail where he remains on a $300,000 bond.

His first court appearance is set for September 6th.
