PSO Crews From McAlester, Lawton In Louisiana To Help Restore Power

A little over 100 Public Service Company of Oklahoma workers and contractors are in the Shreveport, Louisiana area Wednesday helping utility crews with outages stemming from Hurricane Isaac.

PSO's Stan Whiteford says about 90 are linemen from the McAlester and Lawton service areas with the rest being support personnel.

He says the crews left earlier this week headed to Florida, but when Isaac changed directions and headed to New Orleans, the crews were re-directed to Louisiana.

Depending upon Isaac's path, Whiteford says crews could again be redirected to other areas of Louisiana as needed.

Northeast Oklahoma Electric in Vinita sent 8 men and 4 trucks to Deridder, Louisiana.  Officials say they will be helping Beauregard Electric Cooperative.
