Legendary Coach Barry Switzer doubled the reward money after a Rogers County family's dog was brutally killed. The dog was dragged behind a car after her rear legs were bound with steel baling wire.
Switzer says he first learned about this horrible act Monday morning. He quickly doubled the reward being offered from $5,000 to $10,000.
"Jetta" was a friendly black lab who just gave birth to nine puppies a month ago.
Saturday morning, Jetta's owners found her barely recognizable body on a rural country road. They say someone tied her rear legs with metal baling wire and dragged her to death behind a vehicle.

Even though Coach Switzer was busy running errands in Norman Monday, he wanted to voice his disgust.
"When I read it, I sat there, and re-read it. And I just thought about how senseless the crime is." Switzer said.
Melony Patton and her husband owned the dog. The Rogers County Sheriff says investigators continue to run down leads.

The Pattons say they've had Jetta since she was eight weeks old. They say she never displayed aggression, although she was protective of her puppies.
