A Green Country photographer said she wants to give wildfire victims a free chance to make new memories.

Stephanie Starkey is doing what she does best—making memories through the lens of her camera.

"A picture means the world to me," Starkey said.

And she knows she's not the only one who feels that way.

While most pictures lift her up, images of home after home, reduced to ashes, set a fire inside Stephanie.

"I've heard many, many stories; I've heard really sad stories about people that lost everything, all their pictures," Starkey said. "I'd be devastated."

Instead of donating clothes and food for wildfire victims, she decided to go a more unique route to make her contribution to the wildfire relief effort.

"I knew I could give that, and I knew I could give that immediately or whenever they needed it," Starkey said.

For one full year, she's offering up free family photo sessions - complete with digital copies - to any and all wildfire victims.

"I'm going to give them a basic package, as well. It has an 8x10, two 5x7s and eight wallets, so they'll also get a print package with the digital," Starkey said.

It's a deal that normally costs $150.

Starkey said, while it's impossible to put a value on the memories the wildfire victims lost, she wanted to give them something to help make up the difference.

"At least we can help them start new ones—not replace them, but we can give them pictures for their new home, something to make them feel more at home, since they're starting over," she said.
