On October 1, 1983, the Tulsa Roughnecks beat the Toronto Blizzard 2-0 in Vancouver to win the North American Soccer League's championship.

They had some of the most loyal fans in the country, and in 1983 they rewarded those fans with a championship.

On October 1, 1983, the Tulsa Roughnecks beat the Toronto Blizzard 2-0 in Vancouver to win the North American Soccer League's championship. Soon after, the team returned home to a huge welcome and even a ticker tape parade in downtown Tulsa. 

We recognize players Victor Moreland and Billy Caskey in this story by reporter Tim Miller, which we believe also features general manager and former player Alex Skotarek.
