Tulsa Police: Man Arrested After Stabbing Girlfriend's Former Boyfriend

An early Tuesday morning fight between a woman's current boyfriend and a former boyfriend has landed one in the Tulsa County jail and the other in a Tulsa hospital.

Police were called to a home in the 800 block of North Gary Place at 4:30 a.m.

Officers found the former boyfriend Devin Maggs, 24, in the front yard of a home suffering from multiple stab wounds. Maggs was taken by EMSA to the hospital in serious condition.

Tulsa Police say the woman and her current boyfriend, Eric Spears, 26, were questioned.

The woman told officers she and Spears were at a bar, and Spears left without her. The woman called her former boyfriend for a ride home, authorities say.

Tulsa Police say at the home, Spears confronted Maggs with a knife. Police arrested Spears at a nearby home at 1st and North Louisville. 

According to jail documents, Spears told officers the stabbing was in self defense.

Spears was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon.
