A Broken Arrow man is in the Tulsa County jail accused of leaving his 2-year-old and infant outside in a vehicle while he went inside a bar to drink.
Broken Arrow police said they received a call about possible child neglect at Buffalo Wild Wings, 1151 N. 20th St., just before 9:30 p.m. on Thursday. At the scene, they found two children in a running, locked vehicle.
According to an arrest report, Jason Daniel Murray, 31, denied leaving his children in the car and claimed "someone else must have put the kids in the car while he was inside."
Murray had slurred speech, an odor of alcohol and was slow to respond to questions by police, the report said.
The manager of the store reportedly told police Murray was at the restaurant's bar area consuming alcohol for about 20 minutes.
Thirty minutes after being detained by police outside, Murray informed officers that he had a loaded pistol in the waistband of his pants, the report said. Murray was carrying his valid concealed weapon license.
He was booked into jail for child abuse/neglect, carrying a firearm into a place where alcohol is sold, failure to inform police he was carrying a weapon, possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and public intoxication.
He is being held in lieu of $107,100 bond.
According to the report, Murray's infant is 5 months old, and his 2-year-old has a heart defect and is awaiting heart surgery.
The children are now under the supervision of their mother.
