The Tulsa Police Department has 39 new officers on the force. The latest TPD recruits graduated Friday morning.
They started 26-weeks of training back in July - covering everything from writing reports to officer survival.
Training Officer Captain Mike Eckert addressed the new officers at the graduation ceremony.
"All of you have your own stories and motivators, but at the core of that reason, is usually a desire to help your fellow man, to serve their community, and to keep it safe," Captain Mike Eckert said
"I am confident you will strive to do that."
The recruits will spend the next 16 weeks with field training officers in each of the city's three patrol divisions. When that's finished - the new officers will being to fill vacancies on the force.
