Three Killed In Payne County Head-On Crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a van carrying Puerto Rican prison officials to the Cimarron Prison Facility in Cushing was involved in a two-vehicle collision that killed three people.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a van carrying Puerto Rican prison officials to the Cimarron Prison Facility in Cushing was involved in a two-vehicle collision that killed three people.

The OHP says a Jeep driven by 49-year-old Michell Anastasia of Perkins was northbound in the southbound lanes of State Highway 177 when she collided with the van Thursday between Stillwater and Perkins.

Troopers say both drivers and a passenger in the van were killed and two others in the van were taken to a Stillwater hospital. 

The driver of the van was identified as 54-year-old Mayra Ranirez and the passenger was 35-year-old Eliezer Claussells.

The medium-security prison is owned by Corrections Corporation of America has a contract with the Puerto Rico Department of Corrections to house inmates.
