FBI agents are investigating a shooting that sent one of their own to the hospital. Police say it was an accidental shooting that took place at the Edmond Police Training Center.
Agents are not saying too much about how and why their fellow agent was shot, but credible sources tell News 9 the FBI agent did not shoot himself. Officials say the agent was shot in the leg and he is being treated at OU Medical Center.
Moments after the shooting, Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD and pilot Jim Gardner were in the air as the victim was being flown to the hospital.
"[This is] certainly very rare, very unusual [and] very unfortunate," special agent Rick Rains with the FBI said.

The FBI agent was shot around 3 p.m. Thursday.
"The agent was rendered aid at the time by our own EMTs who were on scene [as] part of the training exercise," Rains said.
A team of investigators with the FBI is in Edmond conducting what the bureau calls a routine shooting investigation.
"We're thankful that he is in stable condition," Rains said late Thursday.
The FBI says agents train at gun ranges quarterly. The organization has its own shooting range near the federal prison in El Reno, but agents do train in Edmond from time to time.
As of late Thursday, the FBI had not yet released the agent's name.
