The Brady Arts District continues to boom. A new museum sits in the heart of arts district: 108 Contemporary just opened.
It's located just south of the Guthrie Green at 108 East Brady.
It's one of several recent attractions that is making the Brady District the place to be for artists and art-lovers in Tulsa. You may know it as the old Brady Craft Alliance, but 108 Contemporary says they are re-imagining their mission.
That includes adding mediums that they'll exhibit, including performance and video.

It's here inside the old Mathews Building, and includes a gallery and a shop.
Their opening reception is Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. It's free to the public during the First Friday Art Crawl. For members, the receptions goes from 5 to 6 p.m. 108 Contemporary will be showcasing "Tapestries of Jon Eric Riis," a Georgia artist whose handwoven pieces have been shown all around the world.
These tapestries will be on display starting March 1 and running through April 21st.
Emily Kern is executive director of 108 Contemporary. She said all the Riis tapestries are handmade and take months to finish.
"You really have to see them in person to appreciate them," she said.
Riis will be at the opening Friday night and from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.
