A Buffalo, Oklahoma, man was killed after his semi-truck crashed into a pickup's trailer near Woodward, and then caught on fire Friday night.
It happened at 8:25 p.m. on state highway 15, about two miles west of Woodward.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2010 Ford pickup pulling a trailer was westbound on State Highway 15, when one of the trailer’s tires blew out. The pickup, driven by 19-year-old Kenneth Roy Crowe, then lost control and crossed the center line.
A 2009 Mack semi-truck driven by 23-year-old Chandler Craig Farmer was eastbound on the highway, and it crashed into Crowe’s trailer as his pickup crossed the center line.
The trailer separated from the pickup. Both Farmer’s truck and the trailer caught on fire following the crash.
Farmer was pronounced dead at the scene. Crowe was not injured.
Troopers listed the condition of both drivers as “apparently normal” in the OHP collision report. The cause of the collision was listed as “unsafe vehicle-tires.”
