Police Look For Suspect In Spencer Home Invasion

Police are looking for a man who broke into a 90-year-old woman's home in Spencer and stole her purse Monday night.

According to police, officers responded to the home invasion in the 8500 block of N.E. 25th in Spencer. Police say a man forced his way into the home, and demanded jewelry and valuables from the homeowner.

When the homeowner confronted the suspect, he reportedly pushed the homeowner down, and stole her purse.

The homeowner was able to lock herself in the bedroom and call 911.

Police believe the suspect then ran away from the home on foot. The victim has been taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a black man who stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and is of heavy build. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
