Lincoln County officials have announced the completion of initial tornado damage assessment in the Wellston and Carney areas.
In Sunday's EF3 twister, two businesses and 34 homes were destroyed, 20 homes sustained major damage and 42 homes have minor damage, the Lincoln County Office of Emergency Management said.
In addition, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has begun its assessment for federal aid in Lincoln County. The county was one of 16 declared a disaster by Gov. Mary Fallin.

The Red Cross has been stationed at the Carney Senior Center, located at 301 Maple Ave., since Sunday evening. The agency is offering assistance to displaced families and providing food and shelter. The Wellston Fire Department is serving as a storage facility for the massive amounts of donations the area is getting, Director of Lincoln County Emergency Management Joey Wakefield said.
Officials respectfully ask that donors limit items to those listed below, to suit the needs identified at this time:
"It is important to remember that recovery from such a disaster is a long-term event and needs will continue in future weeks," Wakefield said. "There may be a need for further donations and/or manpower in the near future to support recovery efforts."
Monetary donations to reputable relief organizations continue to be accepted.
