Bartlesville Man Accused Of Raping Girl Multiple Times

A Bartlesville man is in the Washington County jail following his arrest Sunday, June 2, 2013 for sexually assaulting a girl at least four times over the past six years.

James Gibson, 35, is charged with two counts of child sexual abuse.

According to a court affidavit, Gibson raped the girl at a rural home south of Ochelata and at a Bartlesville home, with the latest incident occurring in April 2013.

The affidavit says the victim reported to a sheriff's deputy that after one of the assaults, Gibson told her "not to tell anybody because he could get into big trouble."

During a court appearance Monday, a judge ordered Gibson held on a $200,000 bond. Gibson's next court appearance was set for June 21, 2013.
