A Miami, Okla., man was shot in the back and legs on Sunday afternoon, according to MPD Capt. Thomas Anderson.
Anderson said Stoney Sisco, 34, was shot multiple times and flown to a Joplin hospital, but his condition is unknown.
According to police, Noah Shields, 19, of Grove, went to a residence at 215 J. NW in Miami about 12:45 p.m. Shields reportedly was looking for his wife and daughter, whom he thought were inside the residence.
When Sisco told Shields his wife and daughter were not there, Shields became angry and went to his car to retrieve a shotgun, police said. Shields reportedly kicked in the door and fired multiple shots at Sisco before leaving the scene.
About 1 p.m., Shields posted on his Facebook page for everyone to leave him alone. In comments, friends pleaded with him not to do anything he'd regret.
Shields was captured in Montgomery County, Kan., about 5 p.m. Montgomery County is right over the Oklahoma border, north of Bartlesville.
Shields is going through a divorce with his wife, whose maiden name is also Sisco, according to records.
Online court records show someone else filed a protective order against Shields in January.
