A Tulsa couple arranged to adopt a baby, which turned out to be triplets. Then they found out, only a few weeks later, they were going to have twins of their own.
Meet the Justice triplets, Hannah, Joel and Elizabeth.
We stopped by to talk with Andy and Sarah Justice about the adoption of these beautiful babies.
So we set up in the living room. Andy had Hannah, Sarah had Joel and Uncle Rick took a turn with Elizabeth.
Then we got down to talking about how this all happened.
Andy Justice said, "We were married about three and a half years."
They had been trying to have kids, without success and finally went to a specialist. It was expensive.
"So we decided to go in a different direction," said Andy.
They decided on adoption, and contacted an agency connected to a faith-based crisis pregnancy group...Here's how that works.
"The birth parents or the birth mother picks the family she wants her child to go to," said Andy.
And that's what happened the birth mother called and said she'd selected them. Sarah began taking the birth mom to her doctor appointments.
Sarah said, "We went to a meeting where she had an ultra sound and found there was not one baby but three babies."
"Well, that's great, you said you wanted kids," said Andy.
And they got 'em. On May 18th the triplets were born. Joel is the oldest by seconds over Hannah, then came Elizabeth.
Mini-van's ready, plenty of room for three car seats...but here comes the punch line.
A week after the triplets were born, Sarah found out she was pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl, due in January.
"God has a great sense of humor."
He does indeed. Five babies under the age of one, and Andy and Sarah couldn't be happier.
The only thing that can make the picture more complete is a minivan with room for five car seats.
