Efforts To Collect Tulsa's Unpaid Parking Tickets To 'Step Up' After Amnesty

According to a news release from the City of Tulsa, drivers who don't pay unpaid parking tickets during the amnesty period could see the cost of a $15 ticket increase to $200 or $300 after late fees, court costs, towing and storage fees are added.

Drivers have until February 7 to pay the face-value of the tickets with no late fees or court fees.

Once the amnesty period is over, the City's Security will step up efforts to collect unpaid tickets. Beginning February 10, they will boot and tow any vehicle with more than one overdue parking ticket.

Officers will patrol streets matching license plates and vehicle identification numbers with those on the list. Owners of the vehicles will have until the end of the business day to pay the tickets, court costs and late fees or the vehicle will be impounded.

According to the City's towing contractor, a typical towing fee and first-night's storage is about $200 and about $20 each additional day.

Tickets can be paid at the cashier's window at City Hall, 175 East 2nd Street, or at the Tulsa Municipal Courts.

Drivers can call 918-596-2100 to determine if they have outstanding tickets. The City suggests callers have the vehicle's license tag number available when calling.
