A semi truck headed to the Port of Catoosa caught fire Wednesday morning on eastbound Highway 412 at 265th East Avenue. The driver saw smoke pouring into the cab at about 8:30 a.m.

He tried to put the fire out himself but had to call 911. The driver said he thought the fire was electrical as the smoke wasn't coming out from under the hood.

The semi trailer was empty as the truck was about to pick up a load of fertilizer.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol shut down the eastbound lanes of the highway for about an hour as crews put out the fire and cleaned up the scene.

The trailer is owned by Oklahoma Agricultural Transports out of Kingfisher.
